Checkmate acquired wind turbine training business

Kent based designers and manufacturers of height safety and textile lifting equipment, Checkmate, has recently acquired the specialist wind turbine trading business of Truman & Hall Safety Training Ltd.

The acquisition means that HART, Checkmate's dedicated height safety and rescue training business, will not only be able to provide its popular Fall Arrest training courses, but also have the skills and expertise to provide a wide range of renewable specialist training for both on and off shore with approved confined space training, first aid and manual handling training.

The wind energy training will be held at company’s approved training centre and the confined space training will be relocated from Essex to Checkmate's existing premises on the Isle of Sheppey. In January 2013, the company will also be introducing its first mobile confined space training unit as a further investment to its customers.

Oliver Auston, Managing Director, Checkmate Lifting and Safety, said: "This important acquisition underpins our commitment to our working at height training business, HART. It will give the company a broader range of disciplines to suit its enviable client base and will hopefully secure HART as a significant player in the industry."

Andy Stock, Training Director, HART, commented: "This is such an exciting opportunity for HART to really develop the training division and we are always on the lookout for professional, enthusiastic and qualified instructors to grow the business further."
