Alcumus makes two awards shortlists

Alcumus, a provider of technology-enabled compliance risk management, has been shortlisted for two awards.

The company’s Info Exchange software, which is utilised by William Hill for 12 applications including health and safety, security incidents, GDPR and Self Exclusion, has a chance to win the ‘Most Innovative In-Store Solution’ and the ‘Best Use of Technology in Risk Management – Partnership’ at the Fraud Awards 2018.

With over 2,000 betting shops throughout the UK, William Hill sees the greatest benefit in investing is the software’s ability to assists with crime prevention. The software has enabled William Hill to recover and manage all security incidents including fraud, theft and robberies as well as collect a wealth of information for their intelligence team. Robbery figures are now at an all-time low, down from 360 per annum in 2009 to less than 100 per annum.

Gerard Davies, Head of Retail Security at William Hill, believes that their use of Info Exchange has been a contributing factor to this decline. Gerard explained: “The ability William Hill now has to analyse the data we collect, together with the risk assessment programme we run that also sits on Info Exchange, has helped us to facilitate a more proactive approach to crime mitigation.

“With the duplication of effort through manual recording now removed, our time is now focused on spotting trends, cross-correlating data, enabling us to build accurate risk profiles that facilitate a proactive approach to hazard control and risk mitigation”.

The award ceremony for the Fraud Awards will take place on the 4th October 2018 at Leicester City Football Club followed by the Risk Management Awards on the 8th November 2018, in London.
