Calbarrie pick up a RoSPA Award

Calbarrie Compliance Services is a winner at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017.

The company achieved the Silver award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). Calbarrie, based in Cheltenham, is a national provider of specialist electrical safety testing and compliance services.

They were presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel on Thursday 13th July 2017. The award was achieved during a special year for family-safety charity RoSPA, as it celebrates its centenary.

Through the RoSPA Awards scheme judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. The awards are now in their 61st year.

Paul Roberts, Calbarrie Managing Director, said: “Calbarrie is committed to continual improvement in health and safety and wellbeing of our employees. Our reputation for safety within the compliance industry has been fully recognised following the attainment of this award.

“To receive the RoSPA Silver Award at the first time of entering demonstrates to our employees and external stakeholders that we provide a safe working environment and that we have clear mechanisms in place to minimise the risk of accidents, injuries and illnesses.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Head of Awards and Events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”
